Nadine Passley
About
Nadine is a duel heritage, African-Caribbean playwright and theatre maker from Hastings, East Sussex. She writes mircocosm play-texts focusing on diverse communities, which introduce minority perspectives. Her mission is to write three dimensional characters with complexity and full histories. Striving to break away from stereotypes to show humans that are full of contradictions, flaws and wonders. And to tell stories that tackle global issues in small, humorous and indirect ways.
She studied English Lit before completing a BA in European Theatre at Rose Bruford, including a semester in devising at the Institut Del Teatre in Barcelona.
On her return to London she completed her first play-text, going on to develop her second through the Soho Theatre Writer’s Lab. Alongside working at The Piccadilly Theatre, gaining a level 4 qualification in British Sign Language and completing an MA in Advanced Theatre Practice at Central School of Speech and Drama.
Today, she is General Manager at The White Rock and working with a DYCP grant from the Arts Council Enlgand, presenting a rehearsed reading of her new play
The Grief Share, later this year.
